How
Do I Use
Headers and Footers in Microsoft Word?
1.
Open Word.
2.
Click on the Pull down menu View.
Click on Header and Footer.
3.
There should be a dotted-line box that appears at the top of the page.
4.
Type your name in this box.
Anything else (i.e.: title, date) you type in this box will be repeated
at the top of every page of your document.
5.
If you want the computer to automatically insert consecutive page
numbers: look
at the Header & Footer tool bar, click the little icon that looks like a
page with a number symbol (#) on it.
6.
On the Header & Footer tool bar you can also press the button that
reads ‘Insert Auto Text’ and pick from a number of different automatic
formats.
7.
If you choose one of these you will then have to change the info from the
generic example to your specific info (assuming you want to take credit for your
work).
