How Do I Print & Save from Online Sources?

Remember to log on to the network.  This is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART.  Remember, they are NETWORK printers.  Therefore, if you are not logged on to the network you will not be able to use the network printers.

1.      Many Online Databases have explicit instructions on how to reformat in order to print or save information.  Look carefully on the screen for these instructions.  Many times you can simply print the screen as is.  However, this does not always work exactly the way you want.  Also, if you intend to save the info for latter use you should use the following steps.

2.      On most of them you can use your mouse and cursor to select the information you want (highlight by click, hold the mouse button down and drag it over the appropriate text) the text that contains the answer.  If the whole page is the answer use the EDIT pull down menu and hit Select All (or CTRL+A).

3.      Once you have selected the info you want use the EDIT pull down menu and COPY (CTRL+C).

4.      Open a word processing program (Microsoft Word).

5.      Use the EDIT pull down menu in Word to PASTE (CTRL+V) the info into Word.  Remember to save the document.

6.      If it is a picture that you want to save, RIGHT-CLICK on it.  You will see a pop up box that gives you the opportunity to SAVE PICTURE AS.  Click on this option and save the image to you hard drive or floppy as necessary.
