The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), a federally-funded national information system that provides, through its 16 subject-specific clearinghouses, associated adjunct clearinghouses, and support components, a variety of services and products on a broad range of education-related issues.AskERIC is a personalized Internet-based service providing education information to teachers, librarians, counselors, administrators, parents, and others throughout the United States and the world. It began in 1992 as a project of the ERIC Clearinghouse on Information and Technology and is now, with the ERIC Clearinghouse, a component of the Information Institute of Syracuse at Syracuse University. - Alternative Assessment The Michigan Electronic Library (MEL), sponsored by the Library of Michigan, is an online information system that provides residents of Michigan with no-charge access to a core set of electronic resources over the Internet. MEL's 'virtual library' is selected and evaluated by librarians and is designed to be a comprehensive electronic information tool for the state's libraries, schools and citizens.
- Consortium for Equity in Standards and Testing (CTEST) Provides teachers, parents, and advocacy groups information on the major issues surrounding testing, assessment, and standards in schools. Includes documents, news articles, and links to major issues in testing and standards, including Proposition 209 in California and the Boston Latin Case.

- Education Week--which says its goal is to be "the first place on the Web people come to for information about educational reform, schools, and the policies that guide them." It includes not just the text of the journal, but also background papers, and links to previous stories, on such topics as charter schools, privatization, vouchers, internet, and phonics. The publication does seem to have an obvious and unfortunate bias against public education, however.
