§ Access
to MD Consult. An online database
of clinical medical information. Among other things, MD Consult consists
of: many of the world’s best medical journals and clinics, renowned
reference books, hundreds of clinical practice guidelines, thousands of
customizable patient education handouts & drug information guides.
§ Access Mosby's Nursing Consult , an online database much like MD Consult, with a focus on nursing and allied health. For passwords, see a reference librarian or go to bcstore for a password list.
§ Access to Online Databases. The databases provide access to scholarly journals, newspapers and other research resources.
§ Library website-linked Web Resources. The Library maintains a useful set of internet linked resources that are relevant to and support the programs offered by the school. To view the Library’s Web Resources go to Bethel College Library Website, click on Web Resources, click on Medical Science (or Health). These links are carefully selected by Library personnel and updated regularly.
Introduction To Online Databases
1) www.symantec.com Get Anti-Virus updates regularly. Use this site if you can’t in any other manner.
2) http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com Get updated MS OS updates regularly; or turn on Automatic Updates on your machine.
3) Get & use some form of Anti-Spyware. Bethel suggests MS Anti-Spyware.
4) Printers – the printers are available for you to use in the Library. Remember to log in to them, they are network printers.
5) Network Connections – in order to check the status of your network connectivity, click START, open Control Panel, open Network Connections. Open either your LAN or Wireless connection to check its status.
